TRAVELING JOY PROJECT

They say my JOY has gone away;

Vanished at the close of day.

No ransom note, no guilty plea,

Just one less sign... and an unsolved mystery!

But, if a fellow Lion took

My treasured sign from its nook,

Then may it travel near and far,

A beacon brighter than any star.

Display it proudly where Lions meet,

In every hall and every street.

Let every smile and handshake say,

"Someone shared a little JOY today."

Display it proudly where Lions meet,

In every hall and every street.

Let every smile and handshake say,

"Someone shared a little JOY today."

So, keep the secret if you must

Among good friends, I place my trust.

Does a stolen thing bring sorrow? No!

Not when it’s spreading JOY, you know!

When next I see my sign appear,

I'll simply smile; It’s very clear.

Because the greatest prank of all

Is watching JOY inspire us all.

Keep Spreading JOY!

As District Governor, I couldn't ask for a better purpose for my sign than for it to become a traveling Ambassador of Lionism ~ Appearing wherever Lions gather to remind us all that JOY grows when it is shared!

Traveling JOY Project

This is the beginning of the Traveling JOY Project. Wherever the sign appears, it reminds Lions that our mission is to SPREAD JOY THROUGH SERVICE. So, to the Guardian of JOY, thank you for helping it travel farther than I ever could.

Traveling JOY Project Guardian

Each Lion who is the Guardian of JOY accepts these assignments:

  • Display JOY at Lions meetings, Service Projects, and community events

  • Take photographs with Lions, Leos, prospective members, community partners, and everyone sharing in the spirit of service

  • Share how JOY was spread in that community

  • Introduce JOY to someone else

  • Send JOY on its next adventure in our District

  • Carefully replace the "O" to reflect the current season or special event

  • This JOY belongs to every Lion in our District!
